Everything you need to know about Encounter 2010

Encounter 2010 Information
Retreat dates: October 1-3, 2010
Where: Silver Pearl Garden
Who: Middle and High School students
Speaker: Caleb Wehrli
Theme: it's a surprise!
Verse: Philippians 1:6 - being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Cost:
* 750 RMB - Sept. 1 to Sept. 12 (Early Birds)
* 850 RMB - Sept. 13 to Sept 22 (Normal Registration)
* 1000 RMB - Sept. 23 to Sept. 26 (Late Registration)
 - Sept. 26 is the deadline for signing up. Please make sure you sign up early. Also, there will be a penalty (50 rmb) for turning in your payment, medical form, and passport copy late.

So what else is happening during the retreat?
 
Baptism!
 - We will hold a baptism for students wishing to be baptized on Sunday, October 3 at 9am. Parents are welcome to attend. If you wish to be baptized, let your youth leader know, and select it when you sign up.
 
Basketball tournament!
 - Continuing the tradition, we will again hold a basketball tournament. Get your team together and be prepared to rock the court!
 
Volleyball tournament!
 - Starting something new for Encounter, we will also have a volleyball tournament (held at the same time as the basketball tournament). 
 
Special dinner!
 - Ok, so it won't be filet mignon and require formal attire, but it will be special. How special? It will be a theme dinner - Pirates, Ninjas, and Associates!
 
Please make a copy of your passport or other goverment ID and give to your youth leader. This is required and we may not be able to let you attend unless you have submitted one.

A medical form is required to be signed by your parent. Please download the file here, fill it out, and return it to your youth leader.

How To Pay

How do I hand in Medical/Consent form, passport copy, and payment?

SCF Youth: 

  • Saturday meetings (SOAR- Youth House) 
  • Sunday meetings (SYS- Hengshan)
  • Friday meetings (LOFT)
  • Hongqiao Youth Service
  • During the week – Church office (during office hours; please call to check if there are people here by the time you plan to come by. Phone: 6441-2568) 

Notes: Please turn in your payment and all your documents at the same time in an envelope with your name on it. And sorry, but once you have signed up and paid, we cannot provide refunds.

180 (AGIF):

  • Friday night (Shift) - Give to Chrissy
  • Sunday (Rush Hour) - Turn in at registration table
  • Sunday (AGIF) - Turn in at 180 table or to Chrissy
  • CCS - Turn in M-F 9-5pm (put in an envelope marked for Chrissy)

KG (SMIC):

  • Hand in during KG meetings.
